Amitav Acharya is Distinguished Professor of International Relations and the UNESCO Chair in Transnational Challenges and Governance at the School of International Service, American University, Washington, DC. He is the first holder of the Boeing Company Chair in International Relations at the Schwarzman Scholars Program, Tsinghua University, Beijing. His recent books include The End of American World Order (Polity Press, 2014, 2nd edition 2018), whose Chinese translation, 美国世界秩序的终结 (Mei Guo Shi Jie Zhi Xu De Zhong Jie) was released in 2017. In 2013, he was elected to the Christensen Fellowship at Oxford University. In 2014, he became the first non-Western scholar to be elected as the President of the International Studies Association (ISA), the most respected and influential global network of scholars in International Relations. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Senior Scholar Award of the ISA’s International Organization Section and the Distinguished Scholar Award of ISA’s Global South Caucus. He has contributed op-eds to the Financial Times, International Herald Tribune (International New York Times), Australian Financial Review, Times of India, Foreign Affairs, The National Interest, Washington Post, and YaleGlobal Online. A regular commentator for the world’s media, he has appeared on BBC TV, CNN International, National Public Radio (NPR), BBC World Service Radio, Al-Jazeera TV, CNBC, CCTV, CTV (Canada), and Radio Australia.

Niall Ferguson is a senior fellow of the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, and the Center for European Studies, Harvard University. He has published fourteen books, the latest of which is The Square and the Tower: Networks, Hierarchies and the Struggle for Global Power. The first volume of his biography of Henry Kissinger won the 2016 Arthur Ross prize from the Council on Foreign Relations. His 2011 feature-length film Kissinger won the New York International Film Festival’s prize for best documentary. His PBS series The Ascent of Money won the International Emmy for best documentary. He writes a globally syndicated weekly column for the London Sunday Times and the Boston Globe.
